Our approach
Tā tātou kaupapa

VISION, STRATEGY, ACTION

We approach all projects within the framework of our vision. We then form a strategy and plan how we’ll successfully achieve it within a given timeframe.

When the Waiheke Parks Officer arranged Local Board funding to write and publish a strategic plan for the reserve in 2005, we jumped at the chance. We recognised the opportunity to not only define our long and short term goals, but also to create a tool to help us with fundraising efforts. Our first plan did exactly that, and we have been committed to creating an update every five years. At the moment we are in the process of creating our fourth edition.

These plans allow us to evaluate and showcase achievements, set new goals and leverage our track record to attract on-going and new support. The Waiheke Local Board has been a great supporter of this approach.

We have also identified the need for toilets to make it easier for kura/school groups to visit. The Local Board has allocated funding to facilitate the initial steps of looking at options and gaining consents.
